Description

The Jama Masjid of Amber is situated near the Amer Fort on the border of Jaipur City. Raja Bharmal built Amber Jama Masjid which is also known as Akbari Masjid on the order of Emperor Akbar in 1569 AD.

History

A mosque which is a place of worship for the followers of Islam. The word “Jama” stands for large, and the word "masjid" is used for the daily five prayers. Here the daily five prayers and the especially Friday congregational prayers adhere with a huge number of attendance.

  • The major attraction of this mosque is its rectangular prayer hall on the west which has a splendid facade of seven arches, and the central one is larger than others. The prayer hall also attracts visitors as three large domes mount it along with an upturned lotus. Four high miners built on the corners is also a point of attraction here and adds charm to its beauty.
